A Brooklyn Engagement | Mona + Ernie

I’ve known Mona for maybe five years or so and we’ve always kept in touch. Imagine my surprise a few months ago that she told me she got engaged and I couldn’t be more ecstatic hearing the news! I was planning to come up for NYC for the weekend early August and she wanted me to take her engagement photos, so that worked out pretty well.

Mona and Ernie have known each other for a long time and dated off and on throughout the years before making it official the last few years. In fact, Ernie gave Mona her lovable furry friend, Charlotte, who she absolutely adores and so glad we were able to include her in the photos below. Their engagement took place at Madison Square Park where the first Shake Shack was born from a hot dog cart and now has several locations in the NYC area as well as other major cities. If you haven’t tried their shroom burger, please do! Glad to have one in DC as well.

As for the shoot, we started off at Madison Square Park before heading into Brooklyn to finish the rest of the shoot there. In between of course, Mona and Ernie took me to an awesome ramen place called Chuko owned by three past Momofoku chefs and then later for some ice cream at Ample Hill Creamery. Three words–salted crack caramel. Yup, it was a sweet ending to a sweet day hanging out with these two.

Seriously, how cute are these two!! Couldn’t stop smiling as I went through their photos for editing. Many thanks to the folks at Jacques Torres Chocolatier for allowing us to shoot there after hours! If you’ve never had their hot chocolate and you’re a chocolate fan, you must go. The hot chocolate is so rich in flavors and absolutely delish.

Mona & Ernie- congrats you two! Thanks for taking me around and we’ll definitely munch on more places the next time I come up!
